Senior Manager, Financial Analysis (Hybrid)

Capital One is seeking a culture-led, results-driven, and strategic Senior Manager of Global Payments Network (GPN) Finance. This leader will manage and develop a team of associates to provide oversight and analysis for the actuals and outlook, present monthly financial results to internal and external leadership, and manage quarterly or annual strategic exercises related to the GPN business. 

This leader will directly support the International Markets and US Third Party Issuance businesses and serve as a strategic advisor supporting global acceptance expansion via thorough tracking and analysis.

This role requires strong communication, problem solving, strategic thinking, risk management, and influencing skills in order to effectively:

  • Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights,

  • Partner with global business leadership to assess the financial implications of strategic growth initiatives, and

  • Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior leadership audiences

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Drive revenue generating and expense efficiency initiatives by understanding business economics and effectively leading and influencing business

  • Develop financial projections to support planning and investment decisions. Provide advice and financial analyses to leadership for investment decisions, pricing changes, and the development of new products and offers. Monitor and assess the return on financial investments. Lead an analytical approach to proactively develop insightful financial analyses.

  • Develop and lead finance activities in the area of responsibility, which may include budgeting, short and long-term forecasting, revenue and expense driver analysis

  • Accurately analyze & explain key drivers and monthly variances, suggest actions to the business, and manage the regular reporting process for multiple GPN segments

  • Lead an analytical approach to proactively develop insightful financial analyses

  • Partner with business leaders to provide strategic finance and accounting perspective on business initiatives 

  • Develop and deliver senior management presentations

  • Create and maintain models to understand long-term profit and loss impacts and drive decisions

  • Perform detailed competitive analyses to drive strategic insights and actions.

  • Create well-managed sustainable processes and continuously challenge what’s possible 

  • Independently manage, prioritize, and delegate tasks

  • Manage and develop 2 analysts; coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent, with an eye toward risk management

  • Be comfortable working in blank space and working through others 

Roles require strong leadership, problem solving strategic thinking, and influencing skills in order to effectively:

  • Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior leadership audiences

Travel Expectations:

The associate will be expected to travel an average of 10-15% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 7 years of experience in Financial Analysis

  • At least 2 years of experience in People Leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

  • At least 5 years of experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function

  • At least 1 year of people management experience managing both direct and indirect reports

This role is hybrid meaning associates will spend 3 days per week in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting. Fridays are enterprise- wide virtual work days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are in-person days for associates to spend time together working in our beautifully-designed team areas.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
