Summary:
Capital One, a Fortune 500 company and one of the nation’s top 10 banks, offers a broad spectrum of financial products and services to consumers, small businesses and commercial clients. Our goal is to create one of the nation’s great banks, and we have the necessary ingredients: a strong balance sheet, resilient businesses, a massive customer franchise, strong analytical capabilities, and great people. We nurture a work environment where people with a variety of thoughts, ideas and backgrounds, guided by our shared values, come together to make Capital One a great company – and a great place to work.
External Affairs (EA) works with many external and internal stakeholders to envision and create a world of greater socioeconomic opportunity through advocating for an inclusive society, building thriving communities, and creating financial tools that enrich lives. Our teams include Communications, Community Impact and Investment (CI&I), Community Finance, CRA Strategy and Program Management, the Government and Policy Affairs Group, Regulatory Relations, and Strategy and Engagement. Through our teams, we have unparalleled access to a diverse group of motivated changemakers similarly focused on the ingredients for a more perfect future.
As part of EA, the Community Impact & Investment (CI&I) team uses an approach that focuses on innovation and opportunity to enable long term well being for our communities, customers, and associates. The CI&I team creates impactful community outcomes and positions Capital One as the most strategically bold, innovative, and mission driven financial institution through:
Fueling strategic community investments (e.g. grants, skills, loans)
Delivering insights, advice and resources that inform Capital One’s products and services
Activating the capabilities of “impact forward” associates
The Community Impact and Investment team supports Capital One through leading enterprise volunteerism, conducting market research, fostering community relationships, grant making, originating CDFI loans and partnering with and advising LOBs.
The Opportunity and Role:
CI&I has executed a multiyear transformation to increasingly align business strategy and social impact and we are seeking a strategic and innovative Business Analysis Manager to help push that agenda forward. The LOB Advisory team and this role specifically will operate at the intersection between business and social impact as we seek to move toward achieving our company’s vision. We need a collaborative, hard-working, creative problem solver to proactively and effectively engage with stakeholders in EA and in the LOBs to support their efforts to ignite transformational change. Within this role, we anticipate two primary components of work:
Partnership with LOB on Delivery: through mechanisms like the Community Benefits Plan, LOBs have made commitments to deliver new products or enhancements to existing products or services that are aimed at delivering community value.
Manage Pieces of the Analytical Agenda at the Intersection of Community and COF Products: leverage ongoing relationships with business units across Capital One and the latest knowledge on how to create better financial outcomes for customers and communities to frame up and lead deliver on analytical exercises to build and refine strategic intent
Partnership with the LOB will include managing a set of relationships across two different Capital One Line of Business teams, and will require support to design and deliver solutions to meet 3 or 4 of the ‘commitments’ documented in Capital One’s multiyear $265 billion Community Benefits Plan (CBP), which will make significant financial and programmatic investments across the nation to address critical economic priorities. The CBP aims to expand economic opportunity for underserved consumers, including those in low- and moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods, rural areas, and communities of color. It will also support increased access to best-in-class products and services for unbanked or underbanked consumers as well as consumers across the credit spectrum and expand access to capital and opportunity. Examples of those commitments include:
Ventures Lending: CI&I will partner with Business Card & Payments to launch, pilot, and grow Ventures Lending, a mission-based credit card and suite of wraparound services focused on closing gaps in equity and opportunity targeted to traditionally underrepresented small businesses
Small Dollar Loans: CI&I will partner with Retail Bank to define and shape the product, in collaboration with Retail Bank, CDFIs and credit unions, to launch and bring to market new small-dollar loan products to consumers
Savings Builder: CI&I will partner with Retail Bank on data-driven design and launch of new services and features, including new Savings Builder features that can be used with our flagship 360 Savings product; including digitally-enabled savings goals and auto-saving tools and maintain EA awareness of the product journey and outcomes

You love the chance to share your perspective, to hear the perspectives of others, and to figure out how teams can collaborate.
