That’s why our team is looking to add a Director, caring for our growing Capital One Center development in Tysons, VA.
 

The Director for Capital One Center will oversee the asset portfolio that includes ~3 million square feet of owned real estate assets and a growing development pipeline. This leader will oversee operations management for this mixed-use asset, including the Watermark Hotel,  Capital One Hall, various recreational facilities, and multiple street level retail spaces.  Additionally, this leader will be the visionary accountable for external marketing,  community partner engagement, and all retail tenant relationships. This leader will drive the strategy on a high profile real estate portfolio and be deeply rooted in the community.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Visionary leader that oversees the strategy and execution of our public facing spaces at Capital One Center 

  • Accountable for the third-party functions, namely mixed-use property management team, hotel operator, and entertainment venue operator, with responsibilities for the daily operations of the associated facilities. 

  • Own relationship management with key stakeholders, such as property managers, project managers, accountants, architects, attorneys, and internal team members to ensure that lease-up, marketing and outreach are handled in accordance with the management plan, policies, and all regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for day to day retail leasing activity including lease review, tenant build outs, relationship management and partnership with the third party retail leasing team. 

  • Accountable for all third party contracts, governance and annual budgets including, oversight of reporting procedures, financials and data to track performance of the assets including policy development, budgets, planning, maintenance of records and systems and administration

  • Oversee asset management planning for the operating portfolio. This includes physical risk management, site inspections and physical specifications while maintaining the integrity of original designs and adapting the portfolio to changing market conditions.

  • Responsible for development and implementation of asset and portfolio level budgets including revenue, operating expense, and capital improvement budgets that reflect strategic short- and long-term planning.

  • Responsible for incident response plans, including sustainable crisis management planning, incident response and recovery, and on-going communication and coordination with key stakeholders.

  • Lead oversight of our third-party security program, ensuring that third-party vendors and partners comply with security policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards

  • Maintain and build upon community partnership and non-profit relationships 

  • Oversee the marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social media channels to drive visibility and visitors to Capital One Center

  • Drive team agenda, coordinate business resources to meet team goals, build very productive relationships; operate effectively in a matrix environment without solely relying on one's positional or hierarchical authority

  • Guide the team to solve the “right” problems. Delegates appropriately to create leverage; looks within the broader team for expertise or capacity. Be Willing to look at innovative solutions to drive new results; Commit to and act on a decision 

  • Have a passion for the built environment and how it influences people, culture, and the environment

  • Have expertise in commercial real estate operations and financial performance, and its related physical security concepts 

  • Have experience with creative activations, placemaking, events and engagement

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Military Experience

  • At least 7 years of experience in commercial real estate industry, financial asset management, property or retail center management, or facility operations  

  • At least 5 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or advanced degree

  • At least 7 years of experience in hospitality or entertainment management 

  • At least 7 years of experience in third-party or vendor management

  • At least 7 years of project management experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
