The Team
We are looking for a strategic and execution-minded Director, Chief of Staff (CoS), to join the Chief of Staff team within Enterprise Consumer Product (ECP). ECP’s mission is to build and manage innovative products and platforms that deliver great digital customer experiences and drive business growth. This role supports the ECP senior leadership, contributing to organizational excellence and creating and delivering flawlessly executed processes that improve business efficiency. You will be a thought leader, collaborating with cross-functional teams and partners, and driving results that have a direct impact on ECP’s overall success. This is a highly visible role, ideal for someone who is equal parts operator, strategist, and relationship-builder. It reports directly to the Sr. Director, Chief of Staff, and supporting an Executive Vice President’s leadership team.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized and emotionally intelligent, and love diving into ambiguous and challenging problems. You will work with our senior leadership team to frame up strategic proposals, while keeping key business processes humming, and leading business priorities and activities. The ideal candidate can connect the dots between good process and great results, effectively influence others to achieve organizational goals, and facilitate a vocal leadership team toward purposeful outcomes. Candidates should be self-motivated, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, executive presence, and a passion for solving complex problems. The Opportunity

Responsibilities:
Act as a strategic advisor and operating partner to the senior leadership team
Lead and operationalize business priorities, routines and planning processes
Build scalable tools and processes that improve the organization’s effectiveness
Collaborate closely with key staff function and stakeholders to reimagine key processes and approaches, bringing transparency, rigor to our business operations, and providing framing of proposals
Create and evolve operating rhythms that provide clarity, focus and cohesion for the leadership team- enabling better strategic and day-to-day decision-making
Act as the connective tissue across the organization, ensuring information and insights flow seamlessly, and that teams are aligned to shared goals
Autonomously lead special projects that cut across domains, navigating matrixed environments and surfacing learnings to iterate and improve
Develop relationships across the organization to be able to act as an informed and helpful sounding board and thought partner
Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals, demonstrating an ability to drive and execute an agenda in a fast-paced, dynamic and fluid environment
The successful candidate will:
Demonstrate strong communications proficiency, including across teams and organizations, and have experience utilizing oral and written communication skills along with presentation skills.
Have the ability to multitask with simultaneous projects and tasks, while demonstrating urgency, prioritization, and ownership to drive issues to completion.
Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to be goal/execution-oriented
Be able to react seamlessly to change in priorities and delivery focus
Be self-motivated
Be capable of balancing strategy and tactical delivery
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or Military Experience
At least 5 years of experience in Business Analysis
At least 2 years experience in budget management
At least 5 years in Project OR 5 years in Process Management
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or Master’s degree
Experience serving in a Chief of Staff or critical Project Management Lead role in a large, complex, and matrixed company
2+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry
1+ year of experience in Consulting
3+ years of experience in People Management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $226,000 - $257,900 for Director, Chief of Staff
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
