Role Specific:
The Bank Tech Technical Program Management and Delivery organization is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Director of Project Management to join the Delivery team. In this role, you will have unique visibility into and influence over Bank Tech’s most strategic and complex initiatives, impacting multiple lines of business.
The Delivery Lead (DL) is responsible for ensuring the planned and predictable flow of value within a steady-state collection of products, platforms, and/or ASVs within a Tech tower. This role supports our engineering leaders and technology teams in refining delivery methods and proactive planning practices, utilizing data-based insights and industry best practices. The DL consults on and drives delivery transformation through influence, education, analytics, strong communication, and exemplary change management.
Unlike a Technical Program Manager (TPM) aligned to prioritized programs, the DL is allocated long-term to a specific set of teams and platforms within a Tech tower. They are dedicated to supporting the evolution of delivery practices, governing current delivery standards, and strategically allocating resources for multiple delivery team requests. The DL ensures broad visibility of achievements and centralizes risk/impediment tracking for the steady-state portfolio of work, inclusive and in collaboration with TPMs and Project Managers leading specific initiatives. The DL also ensures compliance with enterprise and cross-LOB standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded candidate to boldly model the future of technical delivery excellence.
A successful DL must remain outcome/delivery focused; utilizing bandwidth to help examine/refine existing processes practices and enable high value continuous improvement based on real-time intelligent insights.
What you’ll do:
Delivery Optimization
Advise on optimized methods and standards for delivery practices, tooling and reporting that minimizes administrative overhead and increases actionable insights to drive value creation. Enable, govern and launch these standards.
Refine steady-state delivery practices, artifacts and routines to optimize the building of high quality software, faster (in collaboration with cross-functional leadership).
Define, measure, track and report out overall tower/domain/platform health metrics.
Ensure traceability of commitments, progress and impediments, across all types of work
Govern, enable and ensure alignment with enterprise and LOB delivery standards (process, artifacts, tooling and data)
Strategic Alignment
Ensure all work within the tower directly supports strategic goals and key priorities of the tower’s services and platforms. This includes providing clear insights into tower performance to support and empower tower leaders.
Partner with Engineering leaders to develop and maintain comprehensive 12-month tower roadmaps, incorporating all types of work based on historical capacity.
Collaborate with Engineering leadership to drive prioritization decisions based on data, including impact analysis and trade-off considerations.
Regularly analyze and report on tower investment allocation levels, feature costs, and potential impacts to inform prioritization decisions for tower leadership.
Ensure tower priorities align across Business, Enterprise Tech and Bank Tech labor strategies
Tower Governance
Publish, maintain and align unified listing of active and future projects, ensuring regular and consistent status updates with minimal administrative overhead
Facilitate the scheduling of work outside of key programs including cross-functional efforts, with impact and sizing discussions
Drive delivery of the tower/domain/platform roadmaps forward. Identify, escalate and personally mitigate risks and impediments to on-time delivery of high quality solutions
Partner with TPMs, Project Managers and Engineering Leaders on the creation, publication and refinement of program delivery best practices including but not limited to stakeholder management, dependency management, risk management, communication planning as well as scope decomposition/refinement
