Director, Middle Market Commercial Bank Relationship Manager

 We are currently seeking a Senior Relationship Manager (RM) with commercial banking expertise in the nonprofit industry  to join the firm’s Not-For-Profit Banking Group, an industry specialty focus within our Middle Market Commercial Bank. This position focuses on developing and maintaining client relationships within the nonprofit sector, providing financial advice and solutions to clients.  A candidate in this role will act as the primary point of contact for clients, introducing them to the bank's financial products and services and ensuring that the bank meets all of their operational and servicing needs.  This candidate will work independently and in collaboration with internal teams to deliver customized solutions and drive business growth and new client acquisition.

Target Market:

  • Nonprofit organizations with an annual operating budget above $30 million

  • Target segments include associations, nonprofit healthcare, education and 501c3 charitable organizations
      

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and build strong relationships with clients, serving as the main point of contact

  • Originate and pursue new business opportunities within the Not-For-Profit industry, acquiring new clients for the bank

  • Deliver an array of financial solutions for clients, including credit, treasury management, depository and related services

  • Work closely with internal teams and product specialists to deliver integrated solutions to clients

  • Assess and mitigate risks, financial and operational, associated with client relationships

  • Establish a strong  brand and presence through industry networking and community activities 

  • Adhere to the strong Capital One culture and values and represent the firm with integrity in all situations 

  • Excellent understanding of financial, legal and reputational risks facing large corporate banks 

  • Create a strong business network and proven community engagement

  • A willingness to travel between Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions

  • Create Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to foster deep relationships with key decision makers with a proven ability to prospect and recruit new client relationships 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or Military experience

  • At least 5 years years of commercial banking experience

  • At least 5 years of experience with credit skills and with treasury management solutions

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • At least 1 year of commercial banking experience within the Not for Profit industry 

  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting

  • Completion of a formal credit training program 

  • Advanced knowledge of industry, market, and all banking products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for MMB Relationship Manager IV

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
