Key Role Details

  • Full-time new hires for this role will start with a cohort in a rotational program in July 2026.

  • This role is a full-time associate position within a two-year rotational program, designed as a career accelerator to foster the next generation of leading talent. 

  • All associates in the Audit Specialty track will rotate to roles within Audit at their assigned location. Rotations occur at the one-year mark and allow for hands-on experience in two distinct audit roles.  

  • Associates who participate in this program may choose to remain in their final role placement upon completion of the program or explore other opportunities at Capital One. 

  • Participation in the program requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital One’s hybrid working model.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree or higher with an expectation that you will complete your most recent full-time degree program by July 2026 or earlier

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or Information Security

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment

Management Rotation Program Associate, Audit Specialty Track - 2026

Capital One’s two-year Management Rotation Program (MRP), Audit Specialty Track offers you the opportunity to build a diverse set of skills and experiences within the Internal Audit function. 

As a MRP Associate within the Audit Specialty Track, you’ll gain hands-on experience across various audit teams, develop influential relationships, and tackle complex challenges that directly impact the business. If you’re intellectually curious, thrive on testing assumptions, and enjoy pushing beyond conventional thinking, this is the role for you. You’ll have the opportunity to leverage data analytics and cutting-edge technology to uncover insights, elevate the value of audit, and build strong, trust-based relationships that drive impactful business outcomes.

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Execute internal audit engagements supporting operational, financial, compliance and information technology functions.  

  • Develop engagement planning documentation for assigned areas to communicate rationale for scoping decisions, and develop audit programs to ensure adequate coverage of risks.

  • Design and execute appropriate audit procedures to verify the effectiveness of internal controls.   

  • Document auditee processes and procedures, review and analyze evidence, and identify potential issues.

  • Prepare clear, organized, and complete documentation to support work performed, including draft findings.

  • Establish and maintain good client and team relations during engagements. Effectively communicate information and audit progress to team, clients and auditor-in-charge.

  • Self prioritize and effectively plan your own work activities managing multiple priorities and tasks across the team to deliver quality results.  Proactively take on additional work to support the team when possible.

  • Interact and develop relationships with management across Capital One’s lines of businesses such as Card, Finance, Bank and Information Technology.

  • Participate in the Data Fluency Program, which empowers associates with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to confidently and effectively harness the power of data to propel both the Audit function and Capital One forward.  

  • Managing and leading multiple complex efforts / projects concurrently in an autonomous environment 

  • Driving the team to focus on critical deliverables, and executing with high attention to  detail

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $97,000 - $97,000 for Associate, MRP


 

Plano, TX: $88,000 - $88,000 for Associate, MRP

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
