We are excited to announce an opening for a Manager to join our Compensation Delivery team. We are a team of Total Rewards leaders who enable game-changing business results by bringing a data-driven approach to compensation that is designed to unleash greatness in our associates. 

Our team is responsible for delivering compensation for the entire organization including but not limited to designing, testing, and executing compensation focal cycles which calculate and deliver incentives and salary increases annually. We are looking for proven leadership candidates who are detailed, results-oriented and flexible with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. The Compensation Manager will design, plan, and implement compensation programs, policies, and procedures for our business areas.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to solve compensation-related issues, identifying root cause, necessary resources and cross-business impacts.

  • Conduct job matching and market analysis necessary to ensure pay is aligned to market.

  • Research and formulate recommendations on external and internal employment offers, job leveling, and internal equity adjustments through the use of salary surveys and internal compensation tools.

  • Develop plans, educational materials, and communications designed to provide associates, managers, and HR partners with timely and accurate information regarding compensation programs.

  • Manage job descriptions for designated clients, including auditing jobs for content and preparing job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities and requirements, as needed. Ensure all positions are classified appropriately according to FLSA.

  • Audit and analyze internal compensation practices in relation to relevant regulations.  Develop recommendations for corrective actions as needed.  Provide compensation consultation to HR and business clients.

  • Drive annual pay processes (merit increases and incentive awards) within client areas.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in compensation, finance or analytics

  • At least 2 years of experience with Excel and developing data-based stories in Powerpoint or Slides

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Human Resources

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

  • 6+ years of experience in Compensation or 6+ years of experience in Finance or 6+ years of experience in Analytics, or a combination

  • At least 2 years of experience in client consulting role

  • Experience with benchmarking tools such as ePrism

  • Experience building compensation models and conducting pay analysis

  • Experience in the Financial Services Industry

  • Knowledge of human resources and compensation including knowledge of relevant Federal, State, Local laws/regulations relating to compensation

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
