The Principal Associate for Agency Finance Insurance will be responsible for completing pre-closing insurance compliance reviews for new loan originations underwritten to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae (Government-Sponsored Enterprises or GSEs) programs. This individual will also be responsible for working with internal stakeholders (underwriting and production teams) and external parties (borrowers, insurance agents, third party providers, and the GSEs). They will be responsible for identifying, researching, solving and/or responding to requests, inquiries and problematic situations related to insurance risk management.
Responsibilities:
Follow-up with insurance agents and borrowers to obtain current proof of insurance Ensure that loan reviews are completed timely and accurately to meet specified deadlines
Review insurance documentation to ensure compliance to GSE insurance requirements
Perform follow-up on outstanding documents and exceptions to bring coverage into compliance
Perform analysis of blanket insurance policies and large borrower programs
Review full insurance policies
Draft and submit waivers to investors and master servicers
Maintain systems of record for pipeline management
Participate in weekly pipeline meetings and share status updates on work in progress
Perform review of final insurance documentation for boarding and servicing
Identify opportunities to improve processes to increase control and efficiency
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
At least 3 years of experience working in loan operations
At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
3+ years of experience in commercial or small business banking operations
3+ years of experience with Government-Sponsored Enterprise (GSEs) backed multifamily loans
3+ years of experience processing insurance disbursements
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office or Google Suite
