We are hiring! The Enterprise Services Risk organization is expanding with a focus on attracting innovative, pioneering, collaborative, and highly skilled professionals. As a Principal Associate, Chief of Staff on the Tech and Product Risk team, you will help advance key priorities, coordinate day-to-day operations, and provide thoughtful support across a range of efforts. In this role, you’ll work closely with leadership to help organize and drive strategic initiatives, while also contributing to the overall health and effectiveness of the team. You will be responsible for supporting key audits in the Tech & Product areas, associate experiences, capacity planning, and helping keep work moving smoothly. In this role, you will: 

  • Help advance key priorities, coordinate day-to-day operations, and provide thoughtful support across a range of efforts. 

  • Work closely with leadership to help organize and drive strategic initiatives, while also contributing to the overall health and effectiveness of the team. 

  • Be responsible for supporting key audits in the Tech & Product areas, associate experiences, capacity planning, and helping keep work moving smoothly. 

  • Maintain an experience-centric mindset with a keen attention to detail, high bar for quality, and strong sense of responsibility.

  • Assist in broad-based teamwork and collaboration that requires juggling multiple internal relationships and accountabilities.

  • Exhibit effective and autonomous project management from strategic ideation through tactical execution and follow up.

  • Gain exposure to different parts of the business, build new skills, and make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification

  • At least 3 years of experience in Risk Management, Process Management, Project Management, or a combination of these

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in risk management or technology risk management

  • At least 5 years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management

  • At least 1 year of Financial Services industry experience

  • Risk Certifications (CRISC, CISM, CRCM, CIPP, ABA Risk Mgmt Certification)

  • Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills to confidently interact with and lead meetings at all levels

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills, customer focus, and ability to collaborate and influence across teams to deliver

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $127,500 - $145,500 for Principal Associate, Chief of Staff


 

Richmond, VA: $115,900 - $132,200 for Principal Associate, Chief of Staff


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
