Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Campaign Specialist -Principal Associate

The Capital One US Card Business is transforming Marketing Operations to be a catalyst, enabling business teams to achieve their goals through the adoption of journey orchestration and marketing automation capabilities supported by well managed delivery processes.  

This exciting new role will be responsible for consulting with Strategy Leads to design journeys, build audiences and test campaigns to ensure well managed deployments. This associate will play a critical role in the transformation and modernization of owned-digital channel marketing for Card, bringing together consultation and tactical subject matter expertise in email marketing best practices. This associate will have extensive experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), inclusive of Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, and Data Extensions to take advantage of modern Martech and Data capabilities. This role is responsible for translating audience insights into marketing plans, building testing agendas and collaborating with partners to execute campaigns. This role is Hybrid, with associates expected to consistently spend three days per week in the office.

 

Responsibilities 

  •  Partner with Marketing Strategy leads to design, streamline and optimize Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)  journeys, including building and filtering audiences

  • Design and execute cross-channel SFMC journeys based on Marketer requirements

  • Bring expertise in personalization and marketing automation to infuse leading practices around dynamic email content and segmentation rules to customize marketing campaigns

  • Partner with CapitalOne MarTech leads for support related to new capability development, platform integrations and / or omni-channel execution

  • Evangelize the spirit of transformation across the team so that it’s a part of every marketer’s job, and permeates everything that we do

  • Establish a network of help and strong relationships across partners (business, creative, martech, data, operations, etc.) to deliver efficient and effective campaigns

Characteristics we’re seeking

  • Exceptional subject matter expertise in email marketing best practices, experience owning multi-audience email campaigns on a global scale, and extensive usage of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) required, inclusive of Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, and Data Extensions. SQL, HTML, and CSS experience required.

  • Experience creating dynamic and personalized marketing campaigns using AMPscript and SQL expertise, building automations for marketing, analysis, and system maintenance using SQL knowledge, maintaining and optimizing SFMC for peak performance and data integrity.

  • Stays abreast of industry best practices and emerging SFMC trends, understands current martech capabilities in the marketplace and is able to connect our martech capabilities to marketing possibilities across targeting, creative, and experience.

  • Ability  to combine analytics and qualitative data to form a journey orchestration strategy and approach and break a strategy down into an actionable plan that accelerates momentum and speed to market.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical or process issues as they arise.

  • Has the fungibility to flex across being a marketer / practitioner and transformation thought leader 

  • Monitors and analyzes marketing campaign performance, offering actionable insights for optimization.

  • Keen eye for details and obsesses about accuracy of work 

  • Is a highly effective communicator and skilled relationship-builder who can influence internal decision makers with formal recommendations and informal networking.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 2 years of experience planning, building, and analyzing marketing campaigns leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud

  • At least 2 years of experience leveraging SQL queries to build target audiences

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of journey orchestration experience in Financial Services or other regulated industry

  • 3+ years experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud 

  • 3+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity

  • BPM, Lean, PMP Certifications

  • 2+ years leveraging Workfront or other project management systems

  • Adobe Workfront Project Manager Professional Certification

  • 2+ years of Risk Management experience

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications: Administrator, Developer, and/or Email Specialist

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $118,700 - $135,400 for Principal Associate, Marketing

Illinois (Hybrid On-Site): $110,700 - $126,300 for Principal Associate, Marketing

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
