About the Role
The Senior Associate, Internal Communications role plays a pivotal part in supporting the communication needs of various organizations within Capital One's Retail Bank. You'll work collaboratively with multiple communications managers, translating complex information into accessible and engaging content for a diverse associate audience. This role demands strong writing, excellent time management, and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, including executives. You'll be instrumental in keeping our associates informed, connected, and engaged with our goals, strategy, and culture through a multi-channel approach.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with multiple communications managers to develop and produce a wide range of written communications for their respective organizations within the Retail Bank - maintaining consistency, tone, and accuracy across various internal written materials.
Own the end-to-end production of monthly newsletters for various Retail Bank organizations and businesses, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and engaging.
Write and publish internal intranet articles that highlight buzzworthy projects, key initiatives, and compelling content across the Retail Bank.
Manage and produce a weekly Slack newsletter, syndicating content across various organizational Slack channels to ensure broad reach and engagement.
Develop presentational and written materials to support seasonal communication initiatives for Retail Bank organizations, such as Associate Appreciation Week, promotion announcements, and updates regarding office space changes.
Provide occasional support for crafting announcements related to team structure changes, ensuring clarity and sensitivity.
Manage and maintain accurate distribution lists for various client groups to ensure effective and targeted communication delivery.
Utilize existing tools to track and analyze the metrics and performance of written communications, leveraging insights to recommend continuous improvements.
Build and maintain efficient processes that foster seamless collaboration across multiple stakeholders and contributors.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or military experience
At least 2 years experience in internal communications, journalism or mass communications
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or Journalism
3+ years of experience in an internal communications role
Experience in the financial services industry

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $86,300 - $98,400 for Sr. Communications Associate
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
