On the Small Business Bank Chief of Staff team, we serve as a vital operational and strategic partner to ensure the organization is optimally positioned to achieve our mission. We support and elevate the incredible culture we have built, and enrich the associate experience by connecting them to information, resources, each other, our customers and the communities we serve. The team is seeking a dynamic and driven Senior Associate, Project Manager to join us on our journey. 

In this role, you’ll blend project management with strategic communications to achieve inspiring results. You’ll play a central role in driving top of house initiatives that fuel our SBB strategy and enrich our culture. You’ll partner closely with members of the Chief of Staff team, key stakeholders across the organization and horizontal partners to deliver across project objectives. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Drive operational excellence: Build and manage the frameworks and routines that keep our team moving, lead small-scale projects with precision, provide execution support to ensure high-priority initiatives stay on track 

  • Power internal communications: Work effectively with lead communicator to advance the communication strategy and implement a range of creative solutions to reach key target audiences

  • Craft the SBB story: Identify themes, topics and content that will resonate with target audiences and meet strategic business objectives, build a thoughtful content calendar while collaborating with associates across the organization to write engaging and compelling content 

  • Analyze, advise and influence: Leverage data and insights to inform narratives and influence innovative and well-managed programming and communications content 

  • Enrich the culture: Support programs and routines, such as quarterly Town Calls, that ensure connectivity and enrich the culture, work with team members and partners to assist in project planning and design

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the ability to multitask with simultaneous projects and tasks, while demonstrating urgency, prioritization and ownership to drive work to completion

  • Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to be goal/execution-oriented

  • Demonstrate strong communications proficiency, including across teams and organizations, and have experience utilizing oral and written communication skills along with presentation skills

  • Showcase strong customer-orientation and proven track record of collaborative work relationships

  • Be able to react seamlessly to change in priorities 

  • Exhibit strong business acumen and executive presence with a history of establishing and growing trusting relationships 

  • Showcase the ability to distill complex content into clear, concise project updates and plans 

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in project management

  • At least 1 year of communications experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of Project Management experience

  • 2+ years of communications experience

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
