Senior Director, Product Management - Operational Intelligence & Observability

In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas:

  • Human Centered 

    • You’ll deeply immerse yourself in knowing your internal and/or external customer(s) needs to reimagine and innovate product solutions

    • You’ll lead a team that translates vision into strategic product roadmaps with an agile delivery approach in partnership with Tech while managing cyber, operational and/or regulatory risks

  • Technology Driven

    • You’ll partner with Technology leaders to influence end-state architecture and drive secure, resilient, performant and scalable technology solutions that solve material customer and business problems

    • You’ll be responsible to make technology investments decision by assessing opportunities for reusing Enterprise solutions or for and building new ones with extensibility & enterprise scalability in mind

  • Integrated Problem Solving

    • Develop and champion a bold vision that drives meaningful outcomes by embracing the art of the possible

    • Build frameworks for complex decision making that enable effective debate and accelerate getting to the right answer

  • Transformational Leadership 

    • You’ll influence a broad set of senior executives across the enterprise and your organization who are stakeholders or delivery partner to successfully deliver on your portfolio/product vision

    • You’ll establish a long-term product portfolio strategy, informed by customer and business needs, to gain alignment, secure resources and overcome impediments

    • You’ll attract, grow, empower, and inspire top product talent as they develop and deliver on their local product strategy

As part of THIS ROLE, you will:

  • The CORE operational intelligence and observability team serves Capital One's technology management and data imperatives by ensuring that operational information on technology assets and platforms are available, intelligible, performant, well-governed, and secure. 

  • This role leads the product team that helps enable and deliver the collection and analysis of data from and about Capital One's technology, and spans across software, databases, analytics, security, research, and infrastructure assets.

  • The product leader for operational intelligence and observability will have scope over the tools that enable Capital One to manage its applications and cloud assets. 

  • This group partners with technology, risk, security, and business teams to monitor performance, identify issues, and support resilience.

  • Learner. You have an appetite to learn new things or new technologies all while exhibiting humbleness when exploring unknown technologies; you will seek for internal solutions before building new

  • Team Player. You enjoy working with diverse people and driving the team toward a common goal. You are also able to coach others and be a mentor in product development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in digital product management 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • 8+ years of experience in Agile product management

  • 8+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $272,600 - $311,200 for Sr. Dir, Product Management

San Francisco and San Jose, California (Hybrid On-Site): $288,800 - $329,600 for Sr. Dir, Product Management

Sales Territory: $231,100 - $263,700 for Sr. Dir, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
