Senior Manager, GEA Risk Guide - Enterprise Services Risk

The Enterprise Services Business Risk Office provides risk management support to several lines of business including: Brand, Enterprise Supplier Management, Enterprise Products & Experience (EPX), Software, Global Enterprise Affairs, eData, Global Workplace Solutions, Emerging Payments, Ventures, and Tech.  As the risk team for Enterprise Services Business Risk, we are on the cutting edge of risk management and provide support for new and emerging technologies as well as critical business strategies. As a Business Risk Guide in Capital One’s Enterprise Services (ES) Risk organization, that’s exactly what you’ll do as a first line function.  Working with talented associates, you are the conscience of all areas of the Business. As a Senior Manager, you will apply your risk management and analytical skills to some of our highest profile Risk Management projects in Global Enterprise Affairs (GEA). You are a highly motivated, experienced, collaborative Risk Management professional that is forward thinking, quick to adapt, and technologically adept. These skills will allow you to gain insights, act as a change agent to influence both business and technology partners, and deliver value-added risk management services to help ensure our Company remains well-managed and avoids unnecessary risk.

In this position, you will play a key role in enhancing our risk management processes and data risk profile across Capital One and driving project and program delivery.

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop and implement processes to provide independent analysis and effective plans to mitigate risk related to the company’s GEA risk management practices.

  • Ensure effective governance by identifying, framing, and presenting risk topics to be discussed by senior management in enterprise risk forums.

  • Advise and consult on the development and management of new policies, standards and procedures.

  • Stay current on emerging risk and potential implications to the company as related to accountable domain(s). 

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and leaders across multiple organizations to achieve strategic objectives. 

  • Coordinate program-related activities and deliverables to ensure effective collaboration within the team and across stakeholder groups.

  • Lead a team providing risk consulting to multiple Business Areas and is a thought leader in providing guidance to implementing risk management practices

  • Analyzes data and influences others to proactively identify risks and trends.

  • Balances multiple priorities to help drive business value and support team objectives, while managing tasks and activities related to risk management initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification

  • At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Process Management, Project Management, or a combination of these

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal and external business clients

  • At least 5 years of experience consulting with senior executives and strategy building

  • At least 2 years of experience developing presentations for senior level audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • Risk Certifications (CRISC, CISM, CRCM, CIPP, ABA Risk Mgmt Certification)

  • At least 7 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal stakeholders

  • At least 7 years of Financial Services industry experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in Process Management, Project Management, Risk Management, or Audit

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and communicate with all levels

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis


 

McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis


 

New York, NY: $219,000 - $249,900 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis


 

Plano, TX: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis


 

Richmond, VA: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis


 

Wilmington, DE: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis


 


 


 


 


 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
