Senior Software Engineer, Android Test Automation (Enterprise Platforms Technology)

 As a Capital One Senior Software Engineer, Android Test Automation, you'll work on a variety of software products and services creating and supporting fully-automated unit/regression testing of mobile applications and software hosted on the cloud. You’ll have the opportunity to work on Android test automation using Espresso framework. You will be using Android Studio as your IDE while developing your tests using Kotlin and Java programming languages. You will also be responsible for creating build automation tools using Gradle

What You’ll Do: 

  • Identify, develop and execute integration, system, and regression testing frameworks, to achieve  end-end automation.

  • Provide high availability automation solutions.

  • Implement testing activities for project/value stream efforts while maintaining high quality execution; identify task dependencies, test schedules, and the utilization of test environments

  • Ensure test deliverables are prepared per enterprise guidelines; monitors the completion of tasks within time and cost constraints and ensures that technical and functional objectives are met.

  • Improve developer productivity by identifying gaps in developer tools, testing tools and creatively solving them without re-inventing the wheel.

  • Improve local and pipeline overall build performance by identifying areas of improvement in our automation tools.

  • Interact with the product delivery team; actively participates in product requirement/design reviews to provide input on completeness of functional requirements, product designs, and schedules.

  • Collect and report test results through various metrics reporting tools and communicating to key stakeholders on a regular basis.

  • Own the functional and regression test suites and maintain them.

  • Assess readiness and deviation of project performance based on test results.

  • Hold domain knowledge specific to the team.

  • Practice automation development efficiency, maintainability and reusability

  • Troubleshoot problems during automation execution

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)

  • At least 2 years of experience building Android applications

  • At least 2 years of experience with Kotlin

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree

  • 3+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java or Kotlin

  • 2+ years of experience with unit testing tools like Gradle

  • 3+ years of experience in automation unit testing using Expresso

  • 1+ years of experience deploying within a cloud environment like AWS/GCP/Azure
