Small Business Lending Operations is a very dynamic space. We serve borrowing needs of businesses of various sizes from relatively small businesses, to large corporations. We are competing for business with both established banks, as well as new fintech entrants that’s shifting customer experience expectations. The Role:
 As a Sr. Director | Small Business Bank Operations Management at Capital One, you will set the operational and well-managed strategy and lead a team of credit and operations leaders and project managers to ensure best in class experiences for small business owners while ensuring operational efficiency, credit, legal and regulatory compliance..     

Responsibilities:
 

  • Lead moderate sized operations teams including Credit Analysis, Underwriting, Special Assets, Loan Closing, Portfolio Servicing, Construction Monitoring and Renewals

  • Lead a small team of high performing process and project associates responsible for project work across Credit Operations as well as administration of the Loan Origination System (Sageworks) and reporting

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of business operations, customer experience and regulatory environment. 

  • Analyze data to proactively identify risks and trends and provide insights that support well managed efficient operation

  • Support internal business resource planning 

  • Provide guidance and advice to business partners on implementing operational changes to meet new intent

  • Drive collaboration between the sales, risk, underwriting, special assets, compliance, legal and other and other functions

  • Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns, including emerging risks and regulatory focus areas.

  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve operations and risk management, while delivering an exceptional customer experience

Basic Qualifications:
 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 6 Years of Project Management experience

  • At least 6 Years of People Management experience

  • At least 6 Years of Leading Operations Teams

  • At least 6 Years of Credit experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree

  • 7+ years of Project Management experience

  • 7+ years of People Management experience

  • 7+ Years of Leading Operations Teams

  • 7+ Years Credit experience

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills

  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $234,000 - $267,100 for Sr. Director, Project Mgmt

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
