Sr. Manager, Associate Treasury Management Consultant Team Lead

This role is a leadership opportunity with a dual mandate of driving associate development and portfolio management. As the Associate Treasury Management Consultant Team Lead your role is to develop a group of Associate Treasury Management Consultants (ATMC) into our future Treasury Management Consultants (TMC). This position oversees the hiring, training, strategic planning, career coaching, client coverage and new sales support initiatives for the ATMC team. The ATMC role works closely with seasoned TMCs to drive Treasury Management sales activities including development of new relationships, expansion of existing relationships and providing ongoing consultative support to our client.

In addition to partnering with TMCs, you will guide your team to build and manage their own books of business, partnering with internal stakeholders to be a single point of accountability on deposit, treasury management, and liquidity needs for key prospects and clients. 

As a trusted advisor and team leader, you will be instrumental in teaching your team to create and deliver customized, client-centric solutions through a consultative approach. You will foster a spirit of teamwork and cooperation and instill best practices in your team to help them influence strategy and meet client needs.

Responsibilities:

Talent Development & Mentorship:

  • Mentor, coach, and develop a team of associate-level consultants, focusing on building their sales skills, product knowledge, and client relationship management capabilities

  • Develop & execute a strategic hiring plan that aligns with the predicted succession needs of our senior TMC team (geography, industry specialization, sales focus)

  • Lead joint sales calls with associates to provide real-time coaching, feedback, and support

  • Guide associates in developing effective prospecting strategies to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline

  • Provide regular, constructive feedback and performance guidance to support the long-term career growth of team members

  • Act as a primary resource for associates on complex deal structuring, story-telling, risk assessment, and navigating internal partnerships

  • Responsible for leading & creating community of practice forums

Business Development & Strategy:

  • Lead and direct the team to identify and pursue both internal and external prospects, generating new, high-quality, and profitable Treasury Management and deposit business to achieve or exceed growth goals

  • Guide the team in designing innovative, customer-centric treasury management solutions and provide expert consultation on the liquidity management cycle for high-value clients

  • Empower the team to identify working capital efficiency opportunities for businesses and deepen client relationships, ensuring clients are aware of market and industry trends.

  • Maintain highly visible relationships with LOB & TM Sales Leaders across all of the Commercial Bank

  • Identify new strategies to support the sales team & clients, including benchmarking, market research, prospecting and lending pipeline evaluation

  • Collaborate with internal marketing teams to contribute to the design of effective sales collateral that supports the team's objectives

Client & Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee the team's portfolio of new and existing clients, with a focus on profitable, organic revenue growth and minimizing attrition

  • Train the team to understand their clients’ businesses, organizational structures, and expected activity to identify and communicate operational credit exposures and other risks

  • Ensure continuous coverage and escalated support of clients and TMCs when there are ATMC vacancies, a uniquely frequent situation in a team built to be a talent exporter

  • Ensure the team understands treasury management product risks and that Capital One credit policies are adhered to and mitigated

  • Establish and manage team standards for client onboarding, including the execution of documentation and the successful ramp-up of sold services

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 6 years of financial services experience

  • At least 5 years of sales experience

  • At least 5 years of treasury management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Military experience

  • At least 7 years in-depth to advanced treasury management experience

  • In-depth to advanced treasury management product knowledge

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Certified Treasury Professional designation or equivalent certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Atlanta, GA: $140,600 - $160,400 for Treasury Management Consultant III

McLean, VA: $154,600 - $176,400 for Treasury Management Consultant III

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
