Risk Advisor have a broad level of exposure across the lines of business and have the opportunity to work with the business to create and implement solutions to appropriately manage risks within Enterprise Services. The demands and high-visibility nature of this position require an expert with a proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and who can begin contributing immediately to work focused on performing technical assessments across technology and cybersecurity domains.
As an Operational Risk Advisor supporting Enterprise Services, you will be responsible for working with business partners to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One. In this position, you will play a key role performing technology risk assessments. You will collaborate closely with associates across all lines of defense, Lines of Businesses, and other risk management teams to perform and support the work related to further maturing risk management practices, specifically focused on technology and cybersecurity processes.
Responsibilities:
Perform risk assessments across business units with heavy technology and cybersecurity risks
Drive and coordinate work related to Capital One’s process management program, working with the first line of defense Technology and Cyber teams, Lines of Business, and second line of defense risk management teams, to ensure effective collaboration within the team and across stakeholder groups
Analyze information to proactively identify risks, trends, and process improvements; supporting reporting on risk topics to management
Stay current on the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to our efforts
Assist and drive project and program delivery, including project and process management, reporting, engagement in senior leadership meetings, drafting and reviewing materials for senior management and other governance activities.
Participate in risk and other management forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk and project / program management practices.
Support direction, manage expectations, and may support/lead cross-functional teams through various initiatives
Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on a periodic basis
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
At least 2 years of Risk Management, Audit, Finance, or Accounting experience
At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of Risk Management, Audit, Finance, or Accounting experience
4+ years of experience in information security or technology risk management
Internal audit or technology risk management experience (or similar)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Project Management Professional (PMP) or CISA (Certified Internal Systems Auditor), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or relevant certification
Ability to set direction, manage expectations, and lead cross-functional teams
Ability to communicate and influence clearly and to interact effectively at all levels of the organization

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $127,500 - $145,500 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
