The Enterprise AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning) Product organization powers real-time, intelligent banking at Capital One through cutting-edge AI/ML capabilities and safe scaling of business-led innovations. Enterprise AI/ML is launching Capital One AI use cases and capabilities, advancing state-of-the-art AI technologies, building a well-managed enterprise platform, and delivering an easy-to-use platform experience.

Our team:

The Product Operations team is a group of Product Managers focused on supercharging the impact of Capital One's AI/ML platforms, through world-class user engagement and Product enablement.  We connect our platform users to critical information and resources - including communications, marketing, training, and documentation - so they can get the most out of our AI/ML product suite. And, we enable our fellow AI/ML Product Managers to do their best work, by developing tools, templates, processes, and analytics that 'raise the bar' for Product excellence at Capital One.

Your role:

As a product marketing manager, you will act as the voice-of-the-customer and drive clear communication and branding strategies across our product suite. This includes supporting our product managers with go-to-market planning, content creation, and user research.

You will inform our AI/ML platform roadmap, ensuring we build and deliver on customer needs and business outcomes. You will be responsible for driving efficient operations across our product organization, by defining best practices and enabling efficient processes with our team and with our users.

The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about technology and deeply empathizes with customer needs; they are passionate about machine learning & generative AI and are continuously learning about the capabilities and uses of these technologies. They are skilled at communicating with engineering and data science teams, as well as line-of-business stakeholders and senior leaders. 

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Customer/Market Understanding: Deeply understanding the needs, pain points, workflows, and motivations of our platform users through research (surveys, interviews, data analysis). This is translated into actionable insights for product roadmaps & strategy

  • Messaging & Positioning: Crafting clear, compelling value propositions that articulate why a user should adopt and use the product, differentiating it from alternatives

  • Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy & Execution: Developing and executing launch plans for new products or features. This includes defining target segments, setting goals, coordinating across teams, planning user engagement & communication, and measuring success

  • Content Creation & Communication: Developing various forms of content to support adoption and understanding – e.g., datasheets, case studies, blog posts, presentations, training materials, pitch decks, demos, etc

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: PdMs constantly work across different teams (Product, Engineering, TPM, Risk, Design) to align strategy and execution. They need strong influence and collaboration skills

  • Data Analysis: Using quantitative & qualitative data to understand user behavior, measure campaign effectiveness, track adoption, and inform strategy adjustments

  • Voice of Customer: Facilitating forums and processes for users to provide feedback and work with product managers and senior leaders to triage and make actionable recommendations

  • Product enablement: Driving efficient operations across our product organization by defining best practices & enabling efficient processes with our team and with our platform users

 

Successful Candidates will:

  • Be highly effective operating autonomously with exceptional judgement on when/how/who to ask for support

  • Be capable of operating in rapidly changing environments, with the ability to build relationships across functional lines

  • Enjoy putting yourself in the shoes of customers. Even better if you have experience doing this with internal customers

  • Have expertise in, or are excited about, machine learning and the latest technologies in AI

  • Are a learner who is able to quickly get up to speed in a highly technical environment

  • Are experienced working in an Agile environment

  • Are a do-er who can also zoom out and think strategically

  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Are highly collaborative and have the ability to influence and lead

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience working in Product Management

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: 

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Masters

  • 1+ years working with cross functional teams in an agile development process

  • 2+ years experience in a product marketing management, product management, product operations, or strategy consulting role

  • 2+ years developing and executing successful Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies for technical products or platforms

  • Knowledge of or demonstrated investment in learning about emerging generative AI / machine learning methods, techniques, and applications

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Manager, Product Management


 

New York, NY: $172,800 - $197,200 for Manager, Product Management


 

Richmond, VA: $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, Product Management


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
