Principal Associate, Compliance Advisor

The Financial Services (FS) and Compliance Governance (CGOV) Compliance Command Center is seeking a highly motivated and talented Principal Associate to join its Local Governance (LGOV) team. In this role, you will work closely with leadership to help advance our key priorities, coordinate day-to-day operations, manage key reporting activities, and provide support across a range of efforts that contribute to the overall health and effectiveness of the FS and CGOV Compliance organization. 

A successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and relationship building skills, customer focus, and the ability to collaborate and influence across teams and at all levels. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, including the ability to create and manage executive reporting and team communications. Additionally, a successful candidate will effectively and autonomously manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks, while demonstrating flexibility, prioritization, and ownership to drive tasks to completion.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • At least 2 years of experience in compliance, risk management, legal, audit, project management, program management, product management, or relationship management 

  • At least 2  years of  experience with Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets)

  • At least 2  years of experience in developing presentation or reporting materials

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, legal, or audit

  • 3+ years of experience in developing presentation or reporting materials

  • Experience with coding languages such as SQL

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate strong communication and partnerships with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to manage and influence outcomes.

  • Develop and implement change management plans for operational changes impacting associates.

  • Coordinating the accurate and timely completion of deliverables across multiple stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with teammates on larger initiatives; participate on cross-functional project teams and provide input for process improvement initiatives. 

  • Manage several key reporting activities

  • Navigate quantitative and qualitative data, transforming ambiguous information into clear recommendations.

  • Coordinate and lead associate engagement activities.

  • Project manage the new associate onboarding experience.

  • Support additional governance activities and other responsibilities as required from the broader team.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
