The mission of the Retail Risk Office is to help enable the Retail Bank and Premium Products to deliver innovative products and services to our customers in a well-managed way.
As a Risk Specialist on the Associate Readiness Training team, you will be part of a highly motivated team responsible for delivering top-notch support to our Retail Risk Office associates.
You will have the opportunity to:
Manage Computer-Based Training (CBT) assignments, compliance tracking, and reporting to ensure associates meet mandatory training requirements in a timely manner.
Analyze training completion metrics and escalate non-compliance trends or risk areas to leadership, providing recommended action steps.
Triage and resolve training-related inquiries from associates and managers, identifying opportunities for improved processes and communication.
Govern and maintain learning content, including updating job aids, templates, and CBTs to ensure accuracy, alignment with enterprise standards, and audit readiness.
Facilitate associate readiness sessions, including onboarding programs, foundational trainings, and role-specific knowledge sessions tailored to business needs.
Partner with stakeholders across the Retail Risk Office to identify and prioritize evolving learning needs based on business changes, feedback, and risk landscape updates.
Communicate training insights and engagement metrics to leadership through dashboards, reports, and presentations, influencing continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive training enhancements through collaboration with Risk Office partners, maintaining strong governance over training change management processes.
Proactively seek ways to improve the associate learning experience through innovation, technology, and scalable training solutions that drive engagement and retention.

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
- At least 2 years experience in Risk Management
- At least 2 years experience in Training Design and Facilitation
- At least 1 year of Agile/Jira exposure using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
- Experience navigating Chariot/Pinpoint

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Risk Associate
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
