Principal Associate, Process Management - Business Card & Payments

The Business Cards & Payments (BC&P) organization is committed to fueling the courageous entrepreneurial spirit that's at the heart of America's business owners and offering products and services to help them do more business.

We’ve built an organization that is focused on listening to and learning from the millions of business customers we serve every day to make sure our products, services and experiences work as hard as they do. The name of our organization reflects our current leadership position in Small Business and Commercial Cards - as well as our aspiration to serve a wide range of needs for our customers Beyond the Card.

We are a culture that dreams big and embraces an entrepreneurial and ownership spirit - just like our business customers. Process Managers thrive in understanding how things work – that means mapping out business processes, understanding and mitigating business risks and ensuring we have the right controls in place – and then making them better.

As a Principal Associate, Process Manager supporting the Business Cards & Payments Well-Managed Operations, you will work on multiple initiatives.

These could include:

  • Using enterprise-standard business process management tools to monitor, learn from, and improve existing processes

  • Leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to develop and prioritize improvement agendas

  • Planning and implementing strategic changes, ensuring process artifacts and strategies are updated (focusing on risk management and associate readiness)

  • Working closely with a small team to develop a pilot, with a focus on developing process instructions and monitoring strategy

Our business is dynamic, and continually evolving and growing. We work very closely with our partner teams, and ensure that our processes and changes account for second/third order impacts. You may enjoy this role if you enjoy learning new things, and using process and structure to help our associates and customers succeed.

  • Identify and drive process improvements that improve customer and associate experience and ensure highest quality.

  • Collaborate with others across multiple departments and lines of business.

  • Continuously analyze current business work flows and productivity/efficiency results in order to seek process improvements.

  • Facilitate huddles and identify and capture any process improvements, trends, escalations, wins, etc.

  • Day to day oversight of multiple processes: monitor, report, and plan process improvement or redesign initiatives; define, establish, and manage process controls; identify process improvement opportunities and implement them through collaboration with other groups

  • Collect, analyze and measure process data, to initiate sustainable business practices and procedures and for reporting to senior leadership and executives; review data for trends and gaps in the process that may require additional review.

  • Maintain formal process documents (e.g. procedures and diagrams), and document processes and projects (creating project reports, presentations, business cases, and diagrams).

  • Participate in cross-functional project teams, including projects driven by other parts of the organization, to provide input, liaise with training, and partner with groups on execution efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in process management, project management or risk management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • 3+ years of experience in process management, project management, risk management, underwriting or loss mitigation
