As a Senior Risk Associate for Capital One’s Operational Risk Analytics, Innovation, and Reporting team, you will apply your strong communication skills, analytical expertise, and business knowledge to our highest profile programs and processes across Risk Management. You will collaborate with a team of risk leaders, analysts, technology, and data partners in support of our risk reporting, risk appetite assessment, and metric governance execution.
The Operational Risk Analytics, Innovation, and Reporting team plays a key role in analyzing and reporting Capital One’s operational risk performance to Senior Executives and the Board. The team is responsible for delivering structured reporting to Risk Executives, as well as developing data-driven insights to inform strategic risk management decisions and practices. The Senior Risk Associate will also support other key risk reporting activities (e.g. risk identification and aggregation, metric governance and curation, and risk appetite) to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of the Company’s operational risk profile.
Senior Risk Associates at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with strong communication skills and analytical expertise. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the company.
Responsibilities:
Support execution of our process, standards, and procedures across quarterly reporting (enterprise and division-level operational risk reports, metric collection, risk appetite, etc.)
Support end to end metric governance processes, including metric curation, metric maturity and suitability assessments, and executive reporting
Support audits, exams, and assessments with operational risk reporting impact
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 2 years of risk management or corporate strategy experience
At least 2 years of communications or program management experience
At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
At least 2 years of experience in reporting and analyzing data
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of communications or program management experience
3+ years of financial services risk management experience
1+ years of drafting and presenting deliverables to high level leadership
Data risk management experience
Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
Familiarity with Tableau, Quicksight, and other Enterprise reporting platforms
Familiarity with large financial institution products and services
Acute attention to detail

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Risk Associate
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
