We are seeking a highly motivated Data and Finance Specialist to join the Payments and Travel Horizontal Team as a Senior Associate with a focus on data, reporting, communication and analytics as well as participation in special projects. You will be a self-starter responsible for managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. The PATS team supports the financial implementation of new products, services, and systems with countless opportunities for knowledge growth.  This role will have the opportunity to engage with groups across the organization as part of variance analysis, project delivery, risk identification, and strategic implementation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our Reporting and Accounting Systems team to create and deliver dashboards, reports, and analytics for our stakeholders

  • Create insights and automation based on our Payments and Travel data

  • Work with Stakeholders to understand reporting/data needs to best manage/influence their processes

  • Hold/create monthly insights meetings/decks for our internal and external partners

  • Perform periodic analysis and reporting of financial performance for stakeholders and management within necessary deadlines

  • Respond to requests from other departments and perform research

  • Participate in key corporate projects such as technology and data transformation, process improvement, and business initiatives

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and stay connected on process or product changes

  • Provide ad hoc analysis to management

  • Provide support for audit, risk and compliance groups when necessary

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree or military experience  

  • At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, financial reporting, audit or finance, or a combination

  • At least 2 years of experience with Google Office or Microsoft Office products, or a combination

  • At least 2 years of experience with Tableau, Python, SQL, or a combination

  • At least 2  years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

  • At least 3 years of experience in Project, Process, or Risk Management 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk

  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis, financial reporting, audit or finance, or a combination

  • 4+ years of experience working in an Agile environment

  • 3+ years of experience using Jira

  • 3+ years of experience in Financial Services 

  • 3+ years of experience in Tableau, Python, or SQL, or a combination

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Risk Associate

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
