Infrastructure Engineer

The NInfrastructure Engineer is responsible for design, deployment and maintenance of a diverse world class global network.  This position will work with our client and internal business partners to develop a fault tolerant network solution.  Using their knowledge of Local Area and Wide Area Networks to support mission critical client applications. They will develop the design, coordinate the installation of equipment, circuits and work with the client to enable the application across the network.   Each Engineer is assigned a list of sites they will maintain and develop ongoing relationships to enhance the ability to facilitate change.

What You’ll Do:

  • Follow standard processes to coordinate the add, change and removal of client connections over an MPLS backbone network as well as Site to Site VPN connections. 

  • Support network wide updates and security enhancements. 

  • Respond to Network Operations escalations. 

  • Support audit requests and findings.

  • Develop and maintain network drawings and documentation

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

  • At least 2 years of experience in Managing IT projects or operations teams

  • At least 2 years Technical Operations experience

  • At least 2 years of experience with IT systems and infrastructure

  • At least 2 years experience with desktop platforms and operating systems

  • At least 2 years of experience with incident management and reporting tools


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields

  • 3+ years of experience in MPLS data network engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in data Network Operations on an MPLS network

  • 2+ years of experience with ServiceNow

  • 3+ years of experience in Project Management (planning, executing, tracking)

  • 1+ year of experience with Cisco networking products

  • 1+ years of experience with PaloAlto firewalls

  • 1+ years of experience with Splunk

  • 1+ year of experience with Riverbed

  • 1+ years of experience with Wireshark

  • Network Address Translations and Access Lists

  • 1+ year of experience with TCP/IP Protocol

  • 1+ year of experience with ISO-8583 protocol

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $106,700 - $121,700 for Prin Associate, Support Operations


 

McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Prin Associate, Support Operations

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
