The Commercial Bank (CML) Human Resources Business Partner team is hiring a Principal Associate to support key HR priorities within our Product and Treasury Management and Risk organizations. The Principal Associate plays a critical role in identifying and executing on process improvement areas across the broader CML Human Resource Business Partner teams along with planning, monitoring and coordinating logistics for a number of processes, such as talent management and performance management activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Consult with clients, other HRBPs, and HR partner groups (People Analytics, Recruiting, Compensation, Associate Relations, etc.) to effectively execute on people strategy, HR processes, and reporting
Partner with clients to build effective relationships, manage stakeholders, and understand business imperatives to execute on HR solutions that are aligned to the business needs
Support the planning and delivery of core HR processes ranging from performance & talent management, leadership development, change management, and organizational design
Develop walk-around decks, communications, data analysis, and training materials to be used in preparing managers and associates; may include facilitator or “train the trainer” sessions
Coach people managers on situations including general leadership skills (leveraging Capital One’s Include/Empower/Inspire framework), organizational design, and performance concerns
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 2 years of client facing experience or consulting experience
At least 2 years of experience in human resources
At least 1 year of experience in project or process management
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Professional Human Resources Certification or Project Management Professional Certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Pr. Associate, HR Business Partner
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
