The Senior Associate on the Small Business Pro Bono team will support the day-to-day management of our Growth Consulting Office Hour engagement offering. This position focuses on process management and execution of Office Hours for small businesses, relationship management with the program’s incubator/accelerator partners and their small businesses, and engaging associate volunteers in executing on the program

In this role, you have a unique opportunity to support a key piece of Capital One’s Community Benefits Plan commitment to investing in the sustainability and success of small businesses. You will work with smart, motivated changemakers to deliver results that have a direct impact on the mission, identity, and strategic goals of the enterprise.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the following areas:

Growth Consulting Office Hour Operation Management:

  • Support key partner relationships with Incubators, Accelerators, and other organizations supporting small businesses

  • Lead associate volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and engagement for the Growth Consulting program, ensuring volunteers maintain a high level of client service for the small businesses they support

  • Engage in the design of new Office Hour services, offerings, and best practices

  • Assist in building the tools necessary to scale for Office Hours and reduce friction in the community partner and volunteer experience

Program technology implementation and management:

  • Learn, test, and become a proficient program administrator for Growth Consulting’s technology software, Coconut Calender

  • Understand and maximize the capabilities of the software to ensure the highest quality experience for both external small business clients and internal associate volunteer clients

  • Use the software’s data reporting tools and analysis functions to provide regular program updates to the Small Business Pro Bono team and GEA leadership

Stakeholder Management/Support:

  • Develop volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition best practices to engage associates with Office Hours

  • Build centralized resources for volunteer to leverage for Office Hours

  • Communications with internal (associate volunteers) and external stakeholders (small businesses, incubator/accelerator partners) to inspire action to engage in Office Hours

​Data, Impact, & Storytelling:

  • Ensure data is properly collected for hours, impact, and QN reporting

  • Engage in data analysis and data reporting of volunteer and community partner feedback to refine program processes and generate storytelling opportunities

  • Share insights from partner relationships and small businesses to inform broader small business pro bono strategy

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in program management, project management, or event management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in pro bono programming

  • 1+ years of experience with talent recruitment and placement for professional services or volunteer recruitment

  • 1+ years of experience in consulting services

  • 1+ years of experience with Social Impact programming

  • Strong digital communication skills including presentations to executive audiences and non profit audiences

  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated experience in customer and client management

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple stakeholders and working cross functionally

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
